Since the Social upheaval of the 1960s and the resulting Vatican II changes the tone of the presentation of God has been mostly one-sided. That of a God of mercy and love. This is not incorrect, but we cannot understand God nor our place without recognizing we will all be judged. We help no sinner by telling them to not worry about their sin. We cannot approach our salvation with a belief “Most are saved” as this is a dangerous heresy that leads one to question the need for a savior in the first place. If most are saved anyway why the need for the sacrifice?
